Solet's experts delivered the project to build and roll out a logistics service cost accounting system at Tradis, the company that integrates the distribution segment of the Emperia trading group and ranks among the largest businesses in the Polish trade sector.
The project set out to obtain detailed information on the time and cost of handling logistics transactions at the goods receipt, warehousing and transport stages. The data gathered in this way is intended to help Tradis's managers optimise the internal organisation of the company's warehouses and branches, and to serve as the foundation for improving cooperation with external partners.
The solution was built on the concept of Time-driven Activity-Based Costing, which provides a practical and effective way to calculate the actual costs of the processes carried out within the company's operations. Through the use of time equations, the system can allocate the costs of the resources consumed in detail at the level of every single transaction, taking into account the specific attributes of that transaction that affect the complexity and duration of the work involved.
